Khirah Wallace-Gayle received a National Junior Honor Society Certificate.
She earned this certificate
based on her Scholarship, Leadership, Service, Character, and Citizenship -
Khirah is the granddaughter of Georgette Wallace and a direct descendant of
Aaron Keeling which makes Khirah a 4th Great Grand-Daughter of Lewis Keeling
who was born circa 1823 in Virginia. Let's hope Khirah continues her
outstanding academic performance while making her entire family proud.

- Eloisa (Coleman) Bunn Retires
from Department of Water Resources - Eloisa Bunn, daughter of Australia
Vines, retired after 30 years of service with the State of California.
Eloisa retired as Chief of Internal Audits. Eloisa started her career
with University of California, Fresno in the Library. She took advantage of
the University's policy that allowed her to take classes and earn her degree
while she worked. Eloisa graduated from University of California, Fresno in
1981 with a degree in Business Administration, Accounting and later obtained
her CPA certification. Eloisa will be spending her time
traveling with her husband in the recreational vehicle, volunteering, and
enjoying her grandchildren. Congratulations, Eloisa!!!! |
| October 2002 - Derrick D. Brown
is the son of Constance (Keeling) Brown who is the
great-grand-daughter of Jasper (Jack) Keeling by way of William B. (W.B.)
Keeling. Constance lives in Dallas, Texas. Derrick who is
currently studying and living in Europe has received a scholarship to attend
New York University (NYU). Derrick has also been recognized for
teaching dance in many countries around the world including, Denmark, Japan,
Netherlands, Switzerland, France, Sweden, and Portugal. Derrick is
expecting to move to New York next year to attend NYU. We wanted to
give Derrick his "propers" for extending the Keeling
family experience across Western Europe. Way to go Derrick!! |
| September 20, 2002 - Amaiya Joanette Draper
is the new daughter of Robert L. Draper and Kashandera
L. Warren. Amaiya came here weighging 8 lbs and 10 oz. and
20" long. "A big Girl"! Amaiya is the new
grand-daughter of Joanette (JoJo) Duncan of Tyler, Texas. Amaiya
is the latest descendant of Oweasia Gurley and Madie Vines.

| September 10, 2002 - Isaiah David Darling
is
the new son (second born) of Mathew Darling and Norma Burris.
Isaish came here weighing 6 lbs and 2oz. and 19" long. This
birth now makes Octavia Vines and Gerald Burris grand parents for the 14th
time. Furthermore, Trinity Darling(first born) has a little brother to
watch over for the rest of her life. Congratulations Mathew and
Norma Darling. |
| August 2002-Tony Luton II
- Named to the National Society of High School
Scholars from Robert E. Lee High School in Tyler, Texas. Also
nominated as "Whose Who Among American High School Students for
2002-3. This is in addition to Tony receiving his High School
Diploma. Tony is the Great-Grandson of Madie Vines and Silas
Gurley. Tony II's are from the proud parents of Tony Luton and Molly
Rougely Luton. Tony Luton is the son of Oweasia Gurley, Madie's baby
girl. Congratulations Tony II a job well done!!!! We all wish
you continued academic success!! |

2002 - Pinkie Leona Vines -
Outstanding Achievement Award on her
last 2 report cards. Pinkie is the granddaughter of Pinkie Keeling and High
Vines and is in the 4th grade. Here
is her outstanding report card. Pinkie is also a budding track
star, taking 1st place in the 100 meter, and 400 meter races. Congratulations
Pinkie for a job well done!!! |

18, 2001 - Aziah Jaylenn Mason is the new daughter (first
born) of Ronnie Mason and Michelle Nettles-Mason. This birth now makes
Dolores Pace Walker a great-grandmother and Jerry LaMar Nettles and Leonarda
McClarity Nettles grandparents. 8 year old Steven Nettles Anguiano is a
first time uncle. |

14-15, 2001 - Marcell M. Keeling, Jr.
- Competed in the Nationals in
Decatur, Illinois. He took 1st place in the Long Jump/Youth Division
with a jump of 20' 5". Marcell also placed fourth in the 400
meter, timed at 52.53 seconds. |

- Michelle Lynn Nettles Miller was married to Wilert
Miller, Jr. on 9/18/99. Wilbert Miller aka Wil Miller was born 1/1/52
and was the first baby born in the United States in 1952. Wil has one
daugher from his first marriage named Annette Miller who is the mother of
one set of twins Myia and Quincy Dickens (8 years old) and another son
Quintin Mattear 10 yeas old. This makes Michelle Lynn a grandmother by
marriage. Not to mention she is one of the grand-aunts to Ms. Aziah Jalyenn
Mason born 10/18/2001. |
