Forest Keeling was born on June 12, 1916 in Texarkana, Texas. He was the youngest child of Forest Keeling and Pinkie Mathilda Short. 

Forest moved to California in the Mid 1930s. He married Earline Edna Davis in Los Angeles, California on January 30, 1955. To this day, Earline is called Helen by most family members. She told Forest that her name was Helen when they first met, not knowing if she really wanted to pursue the relationship. The relationship was pursued and they married and had 3 children:

All of Forest's children and his wife, Earline were at the 2001 Vines and Keeling Family Reunion on July 15, 2001.. Earline was very influential in changing the Reunion Name from Vines Family Reunion to Vines and Keeling Family Reunion. Thank you, Earline.
