Mamie Keeling was the 1st daughter of Forest Keeling, born in 1892 in Texarkana, Texas.

Mamie moved to California in the early 1920’s. Mamie was a graduate of the Cobo Beauty School in Los Angeles, California and the Poro Beauty School in Chicago, Illinois. She and her sisters, Leomie and Margaret owned and operated a Beauty Shop in Los Angeles.
